Korra’s jaw dropped. What was happening? Did Amon know something about Tarrlok that she did not? 

No, this is him being jealous, Korra.

She almost snorted at that thought. Definitely not. Amon didn’t get jealous. Or at least she didn’t think he did. But then again be did a lot of things that she didn’t expect, like letting them escape from the rally or only knocking her out when he had the chance to take away her bending.

But still. 

“Tarrlok has been nothing but nice- a bit creepy, but still nice. He even helped me out once when I was fighting!” Korra paused and frowned, “Why do you hate him so much, anyway?”

Korra held her hands up defensively and shook her head. “Look, I never said that! Tarrlok isn’t an enemy… or at least I don’t think so. We attacked one of your practice areas together!” She sighed and crossed her arms, “And I never said I like Tarrlok more either!” 

Her brows furrowed. Not like it really mattered or anything.

Korra gave the stranger a skeptical look. It wasn’t hard to tell that Tenzin didn’t like the guy, and to be honest, she trusted his intuition. That, and he’s known Tarrlok a lot longer than she has.

“I don’t think it’ll happen, stranger,” she said, shaking her head.

He was what? Twenty years older than her? That just didn’t float her boat very well.

Korra bites the inside of her cheek to keep herself from screaming and crying and having a full-blown freak-out.

“No,” she says after a few moments and through gritted teeth. “That’s just…. no.” A sigh escapes her lips and she rubs her temples, “Never going to happen, okay? Why do you guys keep pushing these things?” she asks,  a bit exasperated.

Korra smiles at the thought of Bolin. “I’m not sure, but it was really nice of him!” She pauses to pout and shrug her shoulders. “It still wasn’t that big of a deal though!”

And the gift basket? Oh, that one, the one from Tarrlok. Right.

“I don’t know. He probably doesn’t like Tarrlok… even though he didn’t know who that was… Uh…. okay. Maybe he just doesn’t like big baskets that are a waste of money and space?”

She throws her hands up in the air, ” Spirits, I really don’t know.”
